Pumpkin Seed Oil for Prostate Hyperplasia

This health disorder is recognized specially when it comes to micturition disturbance (bladder voiding disorder.)

The reasons for this disorder are not completely clarified. Most likely, both age and hormons play a role in the development of BPH. Men over the age of 50 are more likely to be at risk, and should therefore regularly undergo a prostate preventive examination. Due to age, there is a shift in the sexual hormones an this leads to a imbalance, by which the prostate cells are stimulated to growth.

Prostate Enlargement by Cell Growth

At first, benign prostatic hyperplasia may be observed by weak urine pressure and frequent watering. Other symptoms are delayed beginning of urination and a resulting abdominal press. Mostly, patients have to get up at night to urinate or have problems to empty their bladder.

At the second stage, bladder infections may appear, caused by residual urine which remains in the bladder. In rare cases, even bleedings occur.

The third stage then brings a so-called "overflow bladder" which causes constatly droplet-like urine to go off. This can also lead to urinary retention in the kidneys. However, in all three stages it can be that BPH patients suddenly cannot urinate anymore.

Because of the fear of no being able to quickly find a toilette or to lose urine uncontrolled and to spread an unpleasant smell, many BPH patients suffer from social life, and sometimes even suffer from loneliness.

Pumpkin seeds have a growth-inhibiting effect on prostate cells

As studies have shown, the ingredients of pumpkin kernels, especially phytosterols, are so effective due to their hormone-like effect that in many cases an operative procedure can be avoided. Phytosterols inhibit the formation of dihydrotestosterone, which is mainly responsible for prostate enlargement.

Pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil thus provide relief for symptoms of BPH and are also recommended for prevention.

Important: If you suffer on BPH, consult a doctor and do not try to eat pumpkin seeds or pumpkin seed oil as the only therapy!
